Allianz Climate Solutions GmbH (ACS) is a subsidiary of Allianz Group’s Reinsurance arm. ACS works with both private and public sector partners towards improving societal resilience to climate change through dedicated insurance approaches (Public Sector Team). And, in parallel, it supports the renewable energy industry with insurance and financial risk management solutions (Renewables Team). It also steers ESG integration at Allianz Reinsurance (ESG Lead).

You will work in a diverse and challenging environment, which allows active involvement with increasing responsibilities in a small team (Public Sector / ESG). You will contribute to piloting new solutions for enhancing financial resilience to natural disasters in low-income countries. This includes project work under our Strategic Partnerships with the German Development Cooperation Agency (GIZ) in Morocco and Ghana, as well as engagement with initiatives like the InsuResilience Global Partnership, the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII) and the Insurance Development Forum. An additional area of work is ESG integration at Allianz Reinsurance with a focus on lighthouse initiatives like the yearly Allianz Understanding Climate Risk Event and Research Award. ~crlf~ ~crlf~Typical tasks include: ~crlf~##Support with project management incl. organizing local workshops and interaction with our partners, external consultants and internal stakeholders ~crlf~##Knowledge management in the area of risk management and risk transfer with regards to natural disasters as well as ESG / sustainability for reinsurance~crlf~##Development of presentations and handling of content for the Allianz Intranet ~crlf~##Support with the pre-selections for the Research Award including reviewing essays for a publication ~crlf~##Support with preparation, logistics and content of the Allianz Understanding Climate Risk Event ~crlf~

Qualification: ~crlf~##Studies in the area of Economics/Finance, Law, Politics or Geography/Meteorology (at least 3 semesters). ~crlf~##Academic interest in climate change science, disaster risks, sustainability and/or development economics. ~crlf~##Fluent in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of German, French and/or Arabic is an additional asset.~crlf~##Experience in working with MS Office, in particular Power Point and Excel. ~crlf~ ~crlf~Experiences: ~crlf~##First experiences through internships in the areas of project management, finance, insurance, multilateral development banks or development institutions and/or consultancy/policy work in the areas of climate risks desired. ~crlf~##Experience in low-income countries a plus~crlf~##Excellent analytical skills ~crlf~##Independent ~crlf~##Proactive ~crlf~##Team player~crlf~
