Actuarial (Senior) Analyst (m/f/d)

  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The actuarial Life&Health Team focuses on actuarial analytics, actuarial function work and the successful and efficient completion of projects and "out of closing cycle" activities initiated or assigned to the Life Team within Group Actuarial, Planning and Controlling.~crlf~The function is critical with respect to Regulatory Governance regarding opinion on Underwriting, Reinsurance and contribution to Risk Management. In detail, the team supports the closing activities, oversees and manages the product approval framework, financial transformation activities, M&As, model governance and ad hoc projects, currently mainly related to the introduction of Solvency II and/or strategic initiatives related to Life business value steering. This team also is responsible for overseeing closing results and actuarial topics for entities / geographies assigned under it’s responsibility. The team is in close contact with the actuaries in the operating entities around the world, as well as with other financial professionals within the Group, such as Group Risk, Group Accounting and business divisions.

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Serve as coverage officer for an Operating Entity, including support for actuarial annual and quarterly closing process (e.g. Market Consistent Embedded Value, Technical provisions, Value of New business, Return on risk capital, profit source analysis) ~crlf~##Lead and/or participate in Life and Health segment related projects and initiatives with other Group Centers and/or operating entities e.g. IFRS 17 implementation~crlf~##Contribute to the execution of the Actuarial Function governance activities ~crlf~##Active support in the product approval process~crlf~##Providing analytical support and preparation of regular and/or ad hoc reports~crlf~##Travel to operating entities is required

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Qualification~crlf~##University degree with majors in actuarial science, economics, mathematics or other related fields~crlf~##Qualified actuary (ASA, FSA or equivalent)~crlf~##Fluency in written and spoken English. An additional language is a plus.~crlf~##Solid IT skills that include advanced MS Office. ~crlf~##Good knowledge of SAP ECCS.~crlf~ ~crlf~Experience & Key skills~crlf~##Strong experience in actuarial, financial accounting or risk analysis with focus in Life business. Experience gained in an operational unit would be an advantage.~crlf~##Strong understanding of Life insurance and financial services sector. Strong market knowledge of a core Allianz market will be an advantage~crlf~##Understanding of typical actuarial related Life Insurance Company's processes (pricing/product development, ALM, reserving/valuation, underwriting).~crlf~##Familiarity with market-consistent concepts and exposure to industry developments such as Solvency II, IFRS 4 Phase 2, etc.~crlf~##Solid understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting methodology~crlf~##Good track record of being able to work simultaneously on several projects with the skills to prioritize among those ~crlf~##Work independently, with results orientation, a strong sense of cooperation and ability to work toward team success.~crlf~##Demonstrated project management skills ~crlf~##Strong communication skills, including the willingness to communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience~crlf~##Excellent oral and written presentation skills~crlf~##Motivated to pursue an international career
