The Director Rate Development & Pricing will be responsible for leading the company’s formulation and development of rate filings, pricing structures and related tools in order to maintain market competitiveness, profitability, and regulatory compliance. They will help drive the strategic development, management and pricing of new and existing products to drive business success, manage risk ,and maximize contribution margin.

##Lead the rate development team to create effective strategies and approaches to pricing, rates, risk and filing to drive business success across AGA’s portfolio of new and existing products and services.~crlf~##Lead development, implementation and maintenance of rate structures, pricing tools and risk management tools supporting AGA’s portfolio of new and existing products and services. ~crlf~##Lead rate filing creation and preparation, including objection management and, in collaboration with business stakeholders, drive successful delivery with effective documentation of alignment of pricing practices with state regulatory requirements.~crlf~##Provide direct management to associates, including hiring, providing performance feedback, coaching for improvement, and facilitating career development. ~crlf~##Foster the strengths and talents of team associates while cultivating high engagement, collaboration, transparency, and inclusiveness. ~crlf~##Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor in the areas of rate development, rate compliance and pricing strategies, providing guidance on these topics to the Rate Team as well as to colleagues throughout the organization.~crlf~##Perform other duties as assigned.~crlf~~crlf~

##Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field or equivalent combination of work and education experience. ~crlf~##Ten (10) to fifteen (15) years progressively responsible experience in property/casualty actuarial work. Experience with Travel Insurance preferred.~crlf~##Associateship in the Casualty Actuarial Society and Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries required. FCAS preferred.~crlf~##Previous project management and leadership experience in a highly collaborative and matrixed environment ~crlf~##Proven skill in negotiating, influencing and willingness to involve others in the decision making process. ~crlf~##Ability to clearly communicate in a range of methods (written, verbal, formal presentation).~crlf~~crlf~
