The Operations Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer works closely with customers and BI Analysts to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. They provide data that is accurate, congruent and reliable and is easily accessible. BI professionals educate and train customers and analysts to use the data as an analytical tool, displaying the information in new form and content for the purpose of analysis and exploring options.~crlf~The BI Engineer is responsible for the full life cycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Operations Data Mart and Business Intelligence Reporting environments, and support the integration of those systems with other applications. They design and implement reporting and analytical solutions, including both the design of table structures and the processes used to populate those structures with data from internal and external sources. The data they provide helps business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience and business results. BI Engineers also interact with various development teams, project managers, internal and external customers, senior management, and external vendors.

Regular, predictable, reliable attendance is an essential function of this position.~crlf~## Works with BI Analysts to understand customer needs.~crlf~## Participates in or supports workstream planning process that may impact operations processes, data capture, and reporting.~crlf~## Collects, analyzes, and shares data to help business teams drive improvement in key business metrics, customer experience, and business results.~crlf~## Utilizes database and web application technologies to develop and evaluate innovative business intelligence tools and automated reports.~crlf~## Develops and tests BI solutions such as databases, queries, views, reports, and dashboards.~crlf~## Assists in data conversions, imports, and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.~crlf~## Documents new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.~crlf~## Design and build reporting and analysis tools that help streamline the business and make reporting, analyzing, planning, and forecasting more efficient.~crlf~## Supports and assists with the integration of BI platforms with enterprise systems and applications.~crlf~## Troubleshoots BI tools, systems, and software.~crlf~## Tracks performance and production issues.~crlf~## May assist in performance tuning of BI applications.~crlf~## Escalates production issues as appropriate.~crlf~## Ensures the collected data is within required quality standards.~crlf~## May maintain the quality of Metadata Repository by adding, modifying, and deleting data.~crlf~## Keeps customer informed about business intelligence tool problems and resolutions.~crlf~## Tracks and reports out on issues and enhancement request for the business in a timely manner.~crlf~## Analyzes and tests new releases/versions of software.~crlf~## May participate in vendor evaluations.~crlf~## May train customers in the use of the business intelligence tools to enhance business decision-making capability.~crlf~## Adheres to process, policies, and standards.~crlf~## May perform other duties as assigned.~crlf~~crlf~

## Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management or specialized training/certification; or equivalent work experience.~crlf~## Typically requires 3-5 years’ of related technical experience.~crlf~## Knowledge of Allianz Partners Operations functional area.~crlf~## Advanced understanding of call center and claims handling KPIs.~crlf~## Advanced understanding of workforce performance management.~crlf~## Experience with database administration.~crlf~## Knowledge of business intelligence tools and systems required.~crlf~## Experience using modern reporting platforms (e.g., Cognos, Tableau, PowerBI) required.~crlf~## SQL Server proficiency required.~crlf~## Oracle SQL Developer proficiency preferred.~crlf~## Ability to meet aggressive deadlines for delivery of planned and unplanned reporting and analysis.~crlf~## Strong communication skills and possess an ability to lead meetings/focus groups.~crlf~
