Sr Dir Product Strategy and Ideation

  • Job Purpose/ Role

    This role is responsible for ensuring that the company has a robust product strategy and a robust product ideation process. This product strategy will address the needs of the consumer while aligning with the company's strategic objectives. The product ideation process will ensure that the company maintains a pipeline of actionable and feasible product concepts that meet real consumer needs, drive profitable growth, maintain or extend market leadership and reflect current market realities. This person and their team will work closely with the AVP/Sr. Director of each product line as well as the other areas of the company to ensure that each of their respective products lines have a robust product strategy and innovative development pipeline.

  • Key Responsibilities

    * Create and manage a formal discipline around the strategic thinking and product ideation capabilities within the Product Innovation team~crlf~~crlf~* Ensure the Annuity and Life teams within PI have strategic and innovative product and capability roadmaps that reflect consumer, distributor and company specific needs (portfolio fit, market and competitive response, risk appetite, profitability, capital, etc.) ~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~* Ensure effective coordination of product ideation with other areas of the company (Distribution Marketing, Distribution, Actuarial, Digital, Consumer Insights, Competitve Intelligence, 3 year strategy team, etc.) ~crlf~* Indirectly manages a team of 3 Product Line Managers

    Minimum Requirements:~crlf~* 11+ years experience required: Experience managing all aspects of a product line to differentiate company in market and deliver on profit and growth targets. Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and implement large, complex projects and change initiatives. ~crlf~* Four-year degree required: Bachelors degree in related field.~crlf~* FINRA Series 6/26~crlf~~crlf~Preferred:~crlf~* 11+ years experience preferred: Experience and track record of developing innovative product concepts that differentiate the company in marketplace and deliver on profit and growth targets. Demonstrated ability to develop strategy and build this capability in others. ~crlf~* Advanced degree preferred: CFP, Actuarial (FSA/ASA), Series 65 (IAR)
