AIM Principal - Fixed Income Portfolio Investment Strategist
Reports to the VP, Portfolio Manager, who serves as the primary architect of the Allianz Life US general account investment strategy using a liability driven, capital efficient, asset allocation processes via an outsourced investment model. Responsibilities include supporting the development of an economic and market view which leads to the setting of the strategic and tactical asset allocation. Analyze securitized products market sectors, research individual positions that require elevated monitoring and perform ad hoc analysis as required to effectively manage the portfolio including analysis, design and improvement of current investment process, benchmark index selection and analysis and monitoring the portfolio vs the benchmark. Work with the ALM team to ensure the assets are appropriate for the liabilities they support. Work with asset managers to ensure the proper implementation of the asset allocation and monitor the portfolio as needed. Work with risk management to ensure portfolio risks are understood and communicated, ensure the portfolio meets risk limits and monitor the positions as needed. ~crlf~~crlf~Challenge the status quo and improving the portfolio management process are expected. - Primary owner for analysis and recommendations of securitized products asset classes at the sector and subsector level; Assist in development of investment allocation across insurance company portfolios; Assist in development of portfolio investment guidelines including index definition, ratings methodology for NAIC and external agencies, and allocation for use by external asset managers.~crlf~~crlf~- Monitor, review and analyze investment positioning vs. targets; Perform deep dive analysis into problem assets; Participate as active member of global investment team and own recommendations for securitized investment sector.~crlf~- Assist in analysis of key competitors investment strategies; Assist in development of AIM US Economic Analysis & Outlook; Work with corporate risk team to set appropriate risk limits.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
- 6-7 years experience required~crlf~~crlf~- Four-year degree required~crlf~~crlf~- Investment experience required; detailed knowledge of fixed income markets with emphasis on securitized products; working knowledge of investment systems such as Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar investment management systems; strong Excel and Access skills including VBA; Excellent quantitatie and analytical skill-set; Proven written and verbal communication skills; Understanding of insurance company investing and NAIC RBC~crlf~~crlf~Preferred~crlf~- 8-10 years experience preferred~crlf~~crlf~- Advanced degree preferred, MBA, CFA or other relevant advanced degree~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
