AIM Associate - Valuation/Pricing Specialist

The role of the Valuation/Pricing Specialist is to be the expert on asset valuation subject matter for AIM US’ investment universe, including all asset classes and reporting to the respective bodies. This also includes close interaction with different internal functions such as Corporate Risk Management and Investment Accounting as well as third parties such as service providers, regulators or auditors. Lastly the role also includes a strategic dimension to further develop the valuation process of less liquid assets and ensure appropriate controls around pricing are in place.

• Performing the quality control system (“Independent Price Verification”) ensuring the reliability of the externally sourced pricing feeds~crlf~• Determine fair value estimates / mark-to-model valuations of less liquid financial instruments ~crlf~• Resolve time critical valuation issues ~crlf~• Validate applied valuation models for all asset classes~crlf~• Continuous review of current valuation processes to identify and deliver improvements~crlf~• Oversee valuation service provider activities and monitor KPIs to ensure delivery of SLAs~crlf~• Consult in setting up valuation models for illiquid or distressed assets upon request~crlf~• Prepare pricing committee meetings and other valuation related meetings~crlf~• Perform performance attribution and comment on performance reporting~crlf~• Communicate effectively to internal stakeholders (e.g., Corporate Risk Management, Investment Accounting, etc.)~crlf~• Collaborate closely with valuation specialists outside at other Allianz entities to ensure common best practice is being leveraged ~crlf~~crlf~

• Advanced degree in Finance, Economics or related quantitative field. CFA/FRM charter is considered an advantage~crlf~• Minimum 5 years of industry experience related to valuations of equity and fixed income~crlf~• Thorough understanding of valuation methodologies, esp. fundamental valuation of companies~crlf~• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office ~crlf~• Excellent people skills and strong communicator; must be able to effectively communicate to various levels (management, investments, outside business partners)~crlf~• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an organized and methodical manner~crlf~• High commitment, motivation and willingness to take on responsibility~crlf~• The ability to work independently as well as the ability to work flexibly in a team environment~crlf~~crlf~Preferred:~crlf~• Experience with SQL and VBA would be a plus~crlf~• Ideally experience with working in a global/ multi-national organization~crlf~• Project experience would be a plus~crlf~~crlf~
