.Net Engineer - Production Support

  • Job Purpose/ Role

    A full time position has arisen in the IT Development team of Allianz plc, based in Dublin 4, to work as a Production Support Engineer. This role involves technical responsibility from a software development perspective for assisting and enhancing key applications that support critical business processes. We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 3 years’ experience with .NET Framework, SQL Server and enterprise web applications development.~crlf~~crlf~As this is a support role, the successful candidate is required to be flexible, quick-thinking and enjoy working under pressure. They will also be required to program software changes to address application enhancements and bug fixes.~crlf~~crlf~The successful candidate should demonstrate good software engineering skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a variety of technology to provide assistance and quality.

  • Key Responsibilities

    • Comprehensive analysis and resolution of Production system issues ~crlf~• Ownership of software application changes on implementation to Production systems ~crlf~• Comprehensive documentation of changes applied and participation in knowledge transfers~crlf~• Identify potential alternatives to the requested approach.~crlf~• Problem recurrence prevention by focusing on root cause analysis ~crlf~• Liaise with Business stakeholders and build and maintain key relationships ~crlf~• Liaise with .NET Development to maximize throughput and minimize environment congestion~crlf~• Liaise with Technical Leads for solution alignment ~crlf~• Adhere to overall .NET standards~crlf~• Ensure Production Support Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) are met

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Essential Experience~crlf~• A relevant 3rd level qualification with minimum 3 years C# / .NET development experience~crlf~• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of .NET Framework application stack including ~crlf~~crlf~• .NET Web Services / Web API~crlf~~crlf~• ASP.NET MVC / Client Side: JavaScript, HTML, CSS~crlf~~crlf~• SQL Server / Entity Framework~crlf~• Understanding of software development standards, design patterns and best practices ~crlf~• Strong analytical and problem solving skills ~crlf~~crlf~Desirable Experience ~crlf~• Application development with Microsoft .NET Core~crlf~• Practical knowledge of workflow management applications, e.g. TIBCO iProcess, Print Solution~crlf~• Experience with Insurance Underwriting applications, Insure/90 (I/90) would be an advantage~crlf~• Systems, e.g. ISIS; change control applications, e.g. ROCKET ACMS~crlf~• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral ~crlf~• Excellent customer service skills~crlf~• Work independently as well as part of a team
