The Corporate Liability Claims team has an opening for a Liability claims handler to join our team for an 18-month engagement. Our staff are currently working remotely. ~crlf~~crlf~Reporting to the Director of Liability (Claims), this is an excellent opportunity for an adjuster or non-practicing lawyer with experience handling a mixture of intermediate and complex CGL, products liability, environmental liability, auto, program, and other specialty claims. We are seeking a candidate who can work independently and who has experience in coverage assessment, reserving, vendor/litigation management, and claims compliance. You will be working with highly skilled colleagues and we offer a congenial and inclusive work environment that prides itself on collaboration and respect. ~crlf~~crlf~Proactively investigate, negotiate, and resolve high exposure claims, involving complex issues and/or litigation.~crlf~Responsible for field adjusting and/or in-house adjusting.~crlf~Ensure claims handled within authority limits and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines.~crlf~Drive third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers.~crlf~Training and development of team and technical referral point for other Claims Handlers.~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients.~crlf~Effective working within the global matrix.

##Claims Processing and Administration:~crlf~Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems~crlf~Proactively review late/non payment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts~crlf~Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends~crlf~##Investigation and Reserving of Claims:~crlf~Investigate high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation - requires qualified legal analysis~crlf~Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels~crlf~Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)~crlf~##Settlement:~crlf~Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions~crlf~Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines~crlf~Drive effective subrogation processes~crlf~Coaching:~crlf~Support training, developing and coaching of less experienced staff ~crlf~Manage technical referrals as appropriate~crlf~Deputise for for Team Leader / LoB Head~crlf~##Referrals and Compliance:~crlf~Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims complexs procedures and guidelines~crlf~Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters~crlf~Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate~crlf~##Market Management:~crlf~Proactively support acqusition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary)~crlf~Proactivley liaise with MMC on market management initiatives~crlf~Attend industry functions.~crlf~##Relationship Management:~crlf~Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters)~crlf~Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally~crlf~~crlf~

##Bachelor Degree: Preferably Degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline~crlf~##Other: Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII); Ideally qualified lawyer~crlf~##Minimum 7 to 10 years: Proven track record in handling international commercial claims involving complex coverage and damage issues, with c. 8 years' experience~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Expert understanding of LoB products and portfolio, with expert understanding of coverage and application in the adjustment process~crlf~In depth understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape ~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Detailed understanding of legal and regulatory framework~crlf~##Ideal experience, though not required: Experience working in complex, global matrix organization ~crlf~Fluent in English~crlf~##Products and Coverages: Expert understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and coverages - specifically complex claims~crlf~##Claims Handling: Expert knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery ~crlf~Reserving: Expert knowledge of reserving principles and practices~crlf~##Reinsurance and coinsurance: Robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application~crlf~##Litigation: Robust understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~##Advanced: Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; identify and resolve issues before they transpire~crlf~##Advanced: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client, often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties ~crlf~Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally. Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story~crlf~
