## Claims Processing and Administration~crlf~Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems ~crlf~Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends~crlf~## Investigation and Reserving of Claims~crlf~Investigate high exposure domestic claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation ~crlf~Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels~crlf~Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)~crlf~## Settlement~crlf~Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions~crlf~Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines~crlf~Drive effective subrogation and salvage processes~crlf~## Market Management~crlf~Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business.~crlf~Attend industry functions with approval~crlf~## Relationship Management~crlf~Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting.~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders ~crlf~Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and externally~crlf~## Referrals and Compliance~crlf~Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims guidelines~crlf~Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor’s Degree~crlf~## Adjuster should have 5+ years’ experience in handling property claims.~crlf~## Ability to read and understand property insurance policies.~crlf~## Retain and direct experts to assist in handling of large claims. Also have an understanding of reports (estimates, etc) provided by experts.~crlf~## Be proficient in computer skills, including but not limited to excel and word.~crlf~## Understand the basic concept of business interruption~crlf~## Have good communication skills both verbal and written. Use negotiation skills with other parties (such as public adjusters, attys).~crlf~## Be timely and organized in handling reporting on losses.~crlf~## Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application~crlf~## Litigation: understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~## Claims Handling: knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery~crlf~~crlf~
