Deputy Product Development, Financial Lines
This role will support the efforts and execution of the Product Development strategy for the North American Financial Lines as led by the Regional Head of Product Development for FL NA in collaboration with the Regional Head of FL NA and as supported by the Global LoB Head and Global PD. The position will support the efforts to strategically drive the innovation and execution of refreshed or new product offerings as well as customized wording for specific accounts. The role will work collaboratively with our Underwriting, Claims and Legal teams to create and define a market leading presence for product innovation in the Financial Lines sector. ~crlf~##Local regulatory developments ~crlf~##Effective management within the global matrix~crlf~##Cross LoB collaboration in delivering blended products
Product Development & Knowledge Transfer~crlf~##Develop, implement, and modify products (LoB specific or cross-line), standard wordings and coordinate product-specific organizational matters of LoB with PCs, Regions etc.~crlf~##Ensure global knowledge sharing with regard to special products/enhancements, specific UW knowledge for LoB Products~crlf~Underwriting Strategy~crlf~##Develop, define North American Product Strategy in accordance with the underwriting strategy as defined by the Regional LoB Head as supported by the Global LoB Head.~crlf~Coordination and collaboration~crlf~##Represents CUO LoB internally and externally to customers, brokers, the industry, and other organizations~crlf~##Drive involvement of functional areas including e.g. other LoB teams, Claims, Legal, Actuarial, and Market Management~crlf~##Actively support LoB specific projects and task forces~crlf~Market Specifics~crlf~##Provide support for special products~crlf~##Identify litigation trends, coverage trends, market developments incl. market potentials and clients~crlf~##Monitor new (legal) developments, coordinate and steer regional / country issues (e.g. liability and insurance law development)~crlf~UW Authorities/Process Management~crlf~##Make suggestions for UW authorities for special products to Head of Financial Lines and sub-Lobs heads.~crlf~UW Approach and Compliance~crlf~##Enhance and refine underwriting of products during the introduction period (including claims monitoring, sales support and portfolio monitoring)~crlf~~crlf~
##Degree in Law, or comparable discipline~crlf~##Preferably completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Significant experience in Financial Lines product management position; preferred experience in Financial Lines claims or litigation~crlf~##Demonstrable track record of product development; preferred experience with US regulatory form filings and non-admitted form laws~crlf~##Successful track record of leadership of direct teams or complex matrix environments~crlf~##Experience of working internationally with strong ability for cross border adaption~crlf~##Comprehensive technical knowledge of LoB products, coverages, underwriting practices, pricing processes and sales distribution channels~crlf~##Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk exposures and hazards relevant to Financial Lines~crlf~##Portfolio Management: assist the Regional Head of Financial Lines to analyze trends and scenario plans with respect to Product ~crlf~##Contract Drafting and Interpretation: design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings~crlf~##Pricing: analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance in product wordings including specific terms and conditions.~crlf~##Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze highly complex contracts and underwriting principles; identify and resolve issues before they transpire.~crlf~##Strategic Planning: Ability to develop framework for product genesis to completion, all while communicating with key stakeholders ~crlf~~crlf~
