  • Job Purpose/ Role

    Manages and executes regional, AGCS SE wide and fully global accounting transactions and processes within the area of technical accounting timely and accurately. Creates and ensures efficient and compliant workflows to guarantee high quality by considering all relevant parameters for transactions and processes. Fully reconciles and substantiates all assigned accounts. Checks the input and output data of insurance technical processes for plausibility and accuracy. Prepares and delivers all assigned reporting tasks independently and in line with the agreed milestones and/or deadlines.~crlf~Proactively contributes to projects and process improvement initiatives at a global level. Steers smaller projects or process improvement initiatives~crlf~ ~crlf~Future Chalenges:~crlf~##Full harmonization of the technical accounting processes globally (e.g. Global Genius roll-out NA, establishing new branches of AGCS).~crlf~##Contribution to the Finance transformation project as part of "Enterprise Information Management"~crlf~##Preparation of technical accounting function for IFRS-17

  • Key Responsibilities

    Reporting and Closing~crlf~##Ensure that all IFRS, GAAP and Statutory closing and reporting tasks (e.g. annual report, reporting to regulatory authorities, SVT reporting, other internal/external reporting requirements) related to own area of responsibility are accurate and timely on a global basis. ~crlf~##Complete assigned postings, journal entries and account reconciliations on a periodic basis. Reconcile and resolve intercompany transactions within the affiliated company group. Coordinate, transfer and reconcile of data from interfaces of front-end systems. Take care of monthly legal entity close submission activities, including posting of accruals, manual adjustments and other accounting transactions.~crlf~ ~crlf~Governance and quality assurance~crlf~##Document application of policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility. ~crlf~##Fully reconcile and substantiate all assigned accounts. Checks the input and output data of insurance technical processes for plausibility and accuracy. ~crlf~##Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements. ~crlf~##Draft standards to improve quality as well as active contribution in improving and implementing global operation cycles, processes and workflows as well as the implemention of global policies and procedures.~crlf~ ~crlf~Global P&L and balance sheet analysis and reviews~crlf~##Assist internal clients (e.g. other departments) with reports, research and other activities, in particular related to Solvency 2.~crlf~##Identify items or discussion or resolution~crlf~##Significant project work as assigned, in particular as an Accounting subject matter expert in projects with a strong IT focus~crlf~##Manage relationship and show high customer focus in dealing with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. cedents, reinsurers, business units, Group Accounting, auditors, tax authorities, public authorities etc.)

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Type of Experience~crlf~##Professional experience in P&C (re-)insurance accounting, controlling or similar financial area.~crlf~##Proven understanding of standard accounting (IAS/IFRS, Solvency 2 and other local GAAP) in insurance and reinsurance.~crlf~##Project and team work in an international and dynamic environment~crlf~##Demonstrated successful execution of account reconciliations~crlf~##Experience as active user of SAP BW and preferably SAP FI. Demonstrated efficient use of Excel and/or Access to quickly analyse data and drawing the right conclusions.~crlf~ ~crlf~Technical Skills~crlf~##Advanced Excel and good Powerpoint skills to effectively analyse data and convey messages in a winning fashion.
