IT Technical Analyst Senior Specialist - Chicago, IL

  • Job Purpose/ Role

    This role is responsible for developing technical requirements, testing, and acting as a liaison with Business, OBT, and various vendor partners. This person in this position is expected to become an expert in the assigned application and understand how the application meets the business goals (Application Features and rules, User interface, etc.) at a global level.

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Closely liaise with the business partners to understand business requirements and translate them into system requirements. ~crlf~##Work closely with other areas within IT to determine the highest level of system requirements necessary to meet the business requirements within budget and technology constraints. ~crlf~##Design conceptual designs (UI) based on the requirements in collaboration with OBT and other stakeholders. ~crlf~##Prepare test plans, test cases and conduct testing utilizing the Stingray system.~crlf~##Take part in global project teams as required.~crlf~##Proactively conduct ad-hoc as well as regular analysis on functional business requirements, including their implementation in IT systems, documentation, processes, data models, reports, etc. as required.~crlf~##Document findings and develop realistic proposals on how to progress and improve.~crlf~##Ensure adequate root cause analysis and corrective action is conducted against IT system errors to eliminate future occurrences.~crlf~##Proactively work and coordinate with relevant stakeholders, especially on the business/OBT side (as well as within IT, strategic vendors/outsource partners, etc.) to provide consultation and support on the work request/projects and ensure timely delivery.~crlf~##Coordinate with other functions as necessary at a global level.~crlf~##Develop and define a wide-range of documentation (e.g., Application Information Documents, requirements documents, etc., as required.~crlf~##Maintain documentation on a regular basis and be accountable for their quality and completeness. ~crlf~##Support OBT/Business as required on process definition and operating procedures.~crlf~##Communicate and/or train as necessary on documentation content.~crlf~##Conduct analysis on whether IT policies/standards are being followed and follow up where necessary.~crlf~##Report to IT management on results.~crlf~##Perform peer reviews on functional IT design to promote and enforce compliance with current landscape design.

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    ##At least 3 years of IT experience, ideally in the financial services sector;~crlf~##Understanding of IT application landscape and integrations, preferably in the Insurance sector;~crlf~##Experience managing projects/tasks in a global environment;~crlf~##Experience in Requirements gathering and analysis;~crlf~##Ability to interpret functional, data, integration and process requirements and translate these into technical requirements, including data mapping, error processing, workflow, etc., in the course of discussions with stakeholders;~crlf~##Knowledge of SDLC /ITIL processes, where applicable; ~crlf~##Proficiency in application lifecycle management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)and release management tools;~crlf~##Excellent verbal and written communication skills;~crlf~##Influencing and relationship management skills to moderate conflicting interests in order to achieve best solutions;~crlf~##Strong analytical and creative thinking skills;~crlf~##Ability to collaborate across different areas of the organization;~crlf~##Vendor management skills including prioritization, escalation, and resource load balancing;~crlf~##Self-starter with an ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy. ~crlf~##Ability to work well under pressure and deliver tasks on time;~crlf~##International work experience preferred; and~crlf~##Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Business or equivalent experience.
