    The role is meant to transfer Global LoB strategy into Global Profit Center strategy, further develop and execute Global LoB PC strategy in accordance with Global LoB Head, steer and manage the PC portfolio to ensure target achievement in collaboration with Global Business Analysis, build functional LoB PC team and delegate UW Authorities to the Regions in accordance with Global & Regional LoB Heads, Global PC coordination and representation, support the effective functioning of the AGCS UW Academy by developing PC specific content, drive and monitor adherence to a PC specific UW governance framework and risk appetite in cooperation with CUO Global Business Analysis.~crlf~ ~crlf~Future Challenges:~crlf~##Development of the PC~crlf~##Create and pursue cross-LoB synergies and continuation of regional expansion~crlf~##Effective management within the global matrix~crlf~##Assume full P&L responsibility for global Property PC once possible~crlf~##Local regulatory developments for PC and cross LoB collaboration in delivering blended products for the PC

  • Key Responsibilities

    Underwriting Strategy & Team Management~crlf~##Transfer Global LoB strategy into Global PC strategy, refine and implement global PC strategy~crlf~##Build, develop and retain respective Global PC team in cooperation with Regional LoB Head; develop Property PC specific content to support the respective LoB AGCS UW Academy trainings~crlf~ ~crlf~Steering and Controlling~crlf~##Full ownership of Global PC including respective planning, budgeting and monitoring in close coordination with Regional LoB Heads and CUO Global Business Analysis, (i.e. Portfolio Steering & Pricing)~crlf~##Identify and monitor PC specific claims, developments and trends~crlf~ ~crlf~Representation and Client relationship management~crlf~##Identification of trends, market developments, market claims, market potentials and clients in close coordination with Regional Property Head and respective PC Leaders of other LoBs . ~crlf~##Provide acquisition support (including direct client, broker negotiations, PC specific presentations at broker events)~crlf~ ~crlf~UW Approach and Compliance~crlf~##PC specific corporate underwriting: business appetite definition, authority proposal, implementation of UW framework, ensure adherence to UW framework in close cooperation with CUO Global Business Analysis (i.e. Global Process Coordination)~crlf~##CUO LoB referral responsibility for respective PC~crlf~ ~crlf~Coordination and Collaboration~crlf~##Drive and facilitate PC specific internal and external communication in close cooperation with all relevant parties~crlf~##Facilitation of regular regional exchange between the Regions with regards to the respective PC; build, facilitate and multiply PC specific knowledge within all Regions~crlf~ ~crlf~Product Development~crlf~##Make suggestions with regards to PC specific pricing, tools, processes and organizational matters~crlf~##Drive product development/product enhancements for PC including cross LoB products, identify market/clients’ needs and trends~crlf~##Ensure global product roll-out for PC

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    Required experience~crlf~##Min. 11 years’ experience in underwriting of international industrial insurance and Reinsurance within Property~crlf~##Min. 7 years successful track record of leadership of direct teams or complex matrix environments~crlf~##Experience of working internationally with strong ability for cross border adaptation~crlf~##Demonstrable track record of growing portfolio profitably in different market conditions~crlf~ ~crlf~Required education~crlf~##Master Degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Economics~crlf~##Preferably completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)~crlf~##Required languages: English - Fluent (able to negotiate)~crlf~ ~crlf~Technical skills~crlf~##Risk Assessment and Management: ability to assess risk inherent exposures and (natural) hazards relevant to Property~crlf~##Portfolio Management: manage the underwriting books, monitor appropriate investments and allocate funds accordingly; analyze trends and scenario plans~crlf~##Contract Drafting and Interpretation: design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings~crlf~##Pricing: analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance~crlf~ ~crlf~General skills~crlf~##Strategic Planning: Ability to develop, implement and communicate strategies to address important trends or changes in the business~crlf~##Communication & Presentation: Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally.
