  • Job Purpose/ Role

    The Liability Claims Specialist will:~crlf~##Proactively investigate, negotiate and resolve high exposure Construction Defect and/or Latent Injury~crlf~claims, involving complex issues and/or litigation, within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and~crlf~guidelines~crlf~##Drive third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all~crlf~internal and external customers~crlf~##Train and develop team and act as the technical referral point for other Claims Handlers~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients

  • Key Responsibilities

    ##Claims Processing and Administration~crlf~##Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems~crlf~##Proactively review late/non payment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting /~crlf~Accounts~crlf~##Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements)~crlf~and proactively identify loss trends~crlf~##Investigate high exposure domestic and international claims that involve complex issues and/or litigation -~crlf~requires qualified legal analysis~crlf~##Evaluate and address coverage issues and determine appropriate reserving levels~crlf~##Select and direct independent external service providers (e.g. Loss Adjusters)~crlf~##Negotiate and resolve high exposure, complex claims ensuring cost effective, service orientated solutions~crlf~##Ensure unpursued claims are settled in accordance with settlement guidelines~crlf~##Drive effective subrogation processes~crlf~##Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate~crlf~##Support establishment of claims management procedures on new business accounts in association with clients, brokers and loss adjusters~crlf~##Undertake audits of external service providers as appropriate~crlf~##Proactively support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and~crlf~broker negotiations where necessary)~crlf~##Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives~crlf~##Attend industry functions~crlf~##Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~##Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC,~crlf~Operations~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders~crlf~(e.g. third party adjusters)~crlf~##Effectively report and present complex and contentious loss and claims information internally and~crlf~externally

  • Key Requirements/ Skills

    ##Bachelor Degree: Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline~crlf~##Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Specialized understanding of LoB products and portfolio with technical specialist~crlf~knowledge. Management of systems (e.g. Genius)~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Specialized understanding of regional / local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Recognized relationship building with brokers at peer group level~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Good understanding of legal and regulatory framework~crlf~##Minimum 5 to 7 years: Experience in working in complex, global matrix organization~crlf~##Products and Coverages: Understanding in relevant products, wordings, terms and conditions and~crlf~coverages~crlf~##Claims Handling: Knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery~crlf~Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust~crlf~understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application~crlf~##Litigation: Understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)~crlf~##Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or~crlf~writing~crlf~##Advanced: Negotiation and conflict management: Ability to negotiate best position for AGCS, and client,~crlf~often in contentious situations, managing conflicting priorities of various parties~crlf~##Advanced: Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze,study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions
