Underwriting Specialist - Inland Marine
The Inland Marine Underwriting specialist will:~crlf~##Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Inland Marine targets regionally including global elements~crlf~##Take ownership of large accounts / clients including negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients~crlf~##Provide specialized technical expertise
##Underwrite profitable business~crlf~Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets~crlf~Negotiate price and terms and conditions with producers~crlf~Proactively manage capacity ~crlf~Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modeling and interpretation of scenarios (for relevant LoBs)~crlf~## Underwriting approach and compliance~crlf~Underwrite in line with Inland Marine governance framework - e.g. Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules and Principles~crlf~Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception~crlf~Ensure utilization of global pricing tools~crlf~Ensure placing and binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception~crlf~## Policy documentation and administration~crlf~Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to producers (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or producers has issued documentation (where producer responsibility)~crlf~File maintenance – ensure file is established (whether electronic or paper) and maintained for each risk and transaction handled~crlf~Proactively support completion of policy administration and credit control processes~crlf~## Underwriting strategy & leadership~crlf~Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Inland Marine regionally~crlf~## Market management~crlf~Proactively support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and producer negotiations where necessary)~crlf~Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives~crlf~##Relationship management~crlf~Positively represent AGCS externally to the market~crlf~Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including e.g. MMC, ARC, Claims, Operations~crlf~Develop and maintain strong relationships with key producers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. risk managers)~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management or Business Administration~crlf~## Completion of professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII) preferred~crlf~## Minimum of 5-7 years of significant experience in Underwriting profitable business in Inland Marine. Specialized expert understanding of sub-Inland Marine products and portfolio~crlf~## Minimum of 5-7 years of recognized relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within market~crlf~## Minimum of 5-7 years specialized understanding of regional / local Inland Marine insurance markets and competitor landscape, including global elements~crlf~##Minimum of 5-7 years of good understanding of legal and regulatory framework~crlf~## Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in complex, global matrix organization~crlf~## Experienced in risk assessment and Management: Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Inland Marine~crlf~## Experienced in pricing and market management: Analyze current performance against benchmarks applying how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs~crlf~## Experienced in contract drafting and Interpretation: Design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings~crlf~## Experienced in policy management: Robust understanding of policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, cancellation. ~crlf~~crlf~
