Sr. HPR Property Account Engineer
## Through a team approach, the HPR Account Engineer (AE) collaborates with the HPR Account Underwriter (UW) to make better account decisions and optimize servicing of the broker and insured. Engineering leads the evaluation of risk quality of the account so that underwriting can apply the proper rate, terms, and conditions. The AE applies loss prevention expertise to provide insight, analysis, and best engineering judgment to determine the likelihood/impact of loss and to work with the insured, broker, and UW to improve the overall account risk quality. HPR Account Engineering itself becomes a key added value and an essential part of the insurance program. Openness in applying new technology approaches toward current job tasks and assignments.
## Develop and maintain professional working relationships with Underwriting, Business Development, Market Mgmt and Claims personnel along with all other co-workers, clients and brokers.~crlf~## For assigned accounts, completes a comprehensive year-end account summary for delivery to underwriting. In doing so, communicates the risk quality of the account. Reviews all the engineering information available, identify and correct inconsistencies. Provides engineering insights and analysis of any changes on the account, overall account quality, overall exposures, and insured management practices and policies. Ensures account location servicing is up to date (i.e. reports are completed or are nearing completion). Collaborates with UW to identify and address areas where additional evaluation is needed and take immediate action as necessary. Identify and prioritize recommendations and update status, as applicable. Provide an overall conclusion on the account’s attractiveness. Utilize vendor resources when appropriate.~crlf~## Development and implementation of stewardship presentation designed to be delivered to the UW as well as external customer clients. For all assigned accounts, develop and implement Account Service Plans and instructions to guide the loss control services being provided to the client.~crlf~## Involved in all new construction projects for assigned accounts by providing specifications prior to construction, plan review and execution of surveys during construction to ensure that proper risk control measures are in place and upon completion the insured risk meets HPR criteria.~crlf~## Complete as needed Loss Control Surveys and Loss Investigations for managed accounts and also complete surveys within territory for other managed accounts when needed.~crlf~~crlf~
## Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or other Engineering type discipline.~crlf~## Minimum combined 5 years of industry experience in field property loss prevention and Account Engineering.~crlf~##Experience in handling property accounts in the capacity of an Account Engineer/Account Coordinator or equivalent is preferred but not required.~crlf~##Society of Fire Protection Engineer (CFPS) or Professional Engineer (PE) designation preferred.~crlf~##Demonstrate great engineering/technical expertise in fire protection/loss control atmosphere.~crlf~##Strong familiarity with Fire Protection guidelines via either FM, GAPS, or applicable NFPA codes.~crlf~##Strong knowledge of insurance coverages and underwriting processes as they relate to loss control applicability.~crlf~##Strong familiarity with basic computer operation and skills highlighted in Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes or Windows email environment.~crlf~##Ability to work effectively in a home office environment.~crlf~##Ability to work well in a team environment.~crlf~##Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.~crlf~##Ability to travel throughout the US. ~crlf~~crlf~
