Senior Expert Legal Counsel (m/f/d) in the area of insurance & supervisory law
You will assist the Global Head of Insurance Law in the design, implementation and maintenance of an insurance law organisation within the Legal function and you support the coordination of the insurance law activities at AGCS globally. You will also assist the Global Governance Officer in the coordination of the activities related to insurance supervisory law at AGCS globally. You will help setting the overall philosophy and strategy of the organization regarding matters of insurance and supervisory law and ensuring that all practices, policies, and business activities of the organization fall within the bounds of the organization's legal posture. You will provide advice and counsel to executives and line managers concerning the laws that impact their functional areas and oversee the preparation of legal documents.
##Provide legal support, guidance and advice to AGCS management, global functions and local offices with a focus on Germany and Austria, including the analysis of legal queries, development of solutions and written or oral presentation to internal an external clients with a special focus on: insurance and reinsurance law (all lines of business), supervisory law and commercial law.~crlf~##Review and draft contracts and other legal documents from Germany and other jurisdictions, in particular insurance and reinsurance wordings across all lines of business and other types of commercial agreements and service contracts including contract negotiation with internal and external clients.~crlf~##Help to maintain and adjust the legal and regulatory framework and processes of AGCS in order to meet the legal, regulatory and internal requirements. Coordinate company position with regards to all insurance law, supervisory law and ancillary legal issues and contract matters.~crlf~~crlf~##Build up in-house knowledge on insurance, supervisory and general contract law and share across the business. Develop functional guidance on selected legal and regulatory topics affecting AGCS and its business worldwide. Develop content, organize and perform trainings for selected legal topics for AGCS management, global functions and local offices worldwide.~crlf~##Coordinate the use of external law firms on matters of insurance and supervisory law and reduce the amount of fees spent on those mandates while increasing or maintaining the level of quality.~crlf~
##You are a fully qualified German lawyer (2. Staatsexamen/state exam).~crlf~##You have minimum 7-10 years professional experience in insurance and supervisory law preferably in the insurance industry or international law firm. ~crlf~##Full expert knowledge of and practical experience with German (re)insurance law across multiple lines of business and areas (underwriting, claims, reinsurance, broker relations).~crlf~##Proven experience of working internationally and remotely across numerous locations ideally within a complex matrix organization.~crlf~##Ability to comprehend business issues, identify legal issues in business transactions and provide legal practical recommendations and business considerations.~crlf~##Ability to anticipate potential legal issues which may affect multiple clients or have multi-legal specialty implications.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~##Ability to act with considerable independence.~crlf~##Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills.~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~~crlf~##You are able to negotiate and work professionally in German and English. Other language skills, e.g. French, Spanish or Italian, are an advantage.~crlf~
