Liability Underwriting Internship (Virtual) 2021
Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty's (AGCS) Liability Insurance teams provide coverage tailored to the customer’s needs. We serve a diverse client list, which includes pharmaceutical manufacturers, construction companies, power and utility companies, automotive manufacturers, and specialized SMEs and mid-corporate businesses. ~crlf~We offer a wide range of general and specialist liability insurance solutions, covering personal or bodily injury, property damage and (pure) financial loss. These can be provided through individual primary policies, excess layers and umbrella policies, or global insurance solutions for multiple risks in multiple locations.~crlf~~crlf~As an intern, you will work in a virtual environment and gain real employee experience from a top Insurance organization. We place a high value on our interns and involve them in real work with a real business impact, making our internships in a class of their own. The intern will participate with and contribute to the Liability underwriting teams. The internship program is designed to provide the intern with an opportunity to apply a macro understanding of risk in the real world by working side-by-side with our underwriting and operational support team professionals. Interns will participate in a wide range of learning and development opportunities including job shadows, attendance at internal meetings, speaking engagements and events designed to expose the intern to other areas of AGCS.
##Underwriting~crlf~Identification and analysis of new technological developments through the lens of insurance and risk. Processing transactions on (LoBs) underwriting; may include quotations, new business issuance, policy changes & renewals~crlf~##Special Projects~crlf~Will collaborate on a proof of concept for a new product offering~crlf~Will be given other projects that can be completed within the length of the internship~crlf~##On the Job Learning~crlf~Participate in a wide range of learning and development activities focused on immersing the intern into how insurance works and being able to apply a macro understanding of technology and technological developments in the real world by working side by side with underwriting, claims and support team professionals~crlf~
##Bachelor Degree: Pursuing university degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related discipline~crlf~##Minimum GPA of 3.0 ~crlf~##Knowledge of basic computer operations including a strong working knowledge of Excel and other MS office applications~crlf~##Ability to apply field of study learnings to the internship~crlf~##Knowledge of basic math skills~crlf~##A self starter with the ability to work as a team member in a fast paced dynamic environment~crlf~##Strong oral and written communication~crlf~~crlf~
