Executive Underwriter – National Accounts Liability – Chicago
##Underwrite profitable new and renewal business to meet Liability targets regionally including global elements;~crlf~##Ownership of large accounts/clients including negotiation of participation, pricing and terms and conditions;~crlf~##Training and development of underwriters;~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients; and~crlf~##Specialized technical expertise/lead for at least one sub-LoB.
##Underwrite large new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets (regional and/or global). ~crlf~##Negotiate participation, pricing and terms and conditions with brokers. ~crlf~##Proactively manage capacity.~crlf~##Underwrite and evaluate Natural Catastrophe Accumulation, ensuring an understanding of catastrophe modelling and interpretation of scenarios for Liability. ~crlf~##Underwrite International Insurance Programs for Liability.~crlf~##Specialized technical expertise/lead for multiple sub-LoBs.~crlf~##Underwrite in line with Liability governance framework (e.g., Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, and Rules and Principles).~crlf~##Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception.~crlf~##Ensure utilization of global pricing tools.~crlf~##Ensure placing and binding of FAC Reinsurance prior to policy inception.~crlf~##Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to broker (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or broker has issued documentation (where broker responsibility).~crlf~##Ensure file is established (whether electronic or paper) and maintained for each risk and transaction handled.~crlf~##Proactively support completion of policy administration and credit control processes.~crlf~##Contribute to development and execution of regional Underwriting strategy for Liability regionally.~crlf~##Training, developing and coaching of experienced staff (including Senior Underwriters).~crlf~##Delegate work as appropriate.~crlf~##Proactively drive acquisition of new business and retention of existing business for large/key clients (including client and broker negotiations where necessary).~crlf~##Proactively liaise with MMC on market management initiatives.~crlf~##Positively represent AGCS externally to the market with key brokers/distribution channels.~crlf~##Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including MMC, ARC, Claims, and Operations.~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g., risk managers).~crlf~~crlf~
##Bachelor’s Degree, preferably degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management or Business Administration;~crlf~##7+ years in Underwriting profitable Liability business;~crlf~##Specialized expert understanding of multiple sub-LoB products and portfolio;~crlf~##In depth understanding of Liability products and portfolio;~crlf~##Experience working in a complex, global matrix organization;~crlf~##In depth understanding of regional/local Liability insurance markets and competitor landscape;~crlf~##Demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at peer group level and well established within local market;~crlf~##Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Liability;~crlf~##Ability to analyze trends and scenario plans from which portfolio strategies can be developed and implemented;~crlf~##Ability to analyze current performance against various benchmarks with a view to ensure adequate progress and satisfactory performance;~crlf~##Apply the knowledge of how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs;~crlf~##Ability to analyze highly complex data, from multiple sources, in detail; ~crlf~##Ability to identify and resolve issues before they transpire;~crlf~##Ability to express ideas and messages clearly, both written and verbally;~crlf~##Ability to "sell" an improvised or prepared audience winning story;~crlf~##Experience with general office application tools (e.g., Power Point, Excel, and Word); and~crlf~##Ability to persuade and motivate others to act, without executive authority.~crlf~~crlf~
