Associate Graduate Underwriter- Entertainment, New York
Prepares underwriting process within own area of responsibility and expertise (with limited underwriting authority) and liaises with other functions to ensure timely/accurate policy administration. Develop and maintain peer level relationships with brokers.
##Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom line targets within predefined underwriting authority.~crlf~##Participates in the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business (including client and broker negotiations where necessary) in line with underwriting strategy.~crlf~##Proactively prepare relevant underwriting information including client/market research and claims data.~crlf~##Assist in the evaluation of Natural Catastrophe Accumulation for Entertainment.~crlf~##Assist in pricing of risks, using global tools as appropriate.~crlf~##Ensure underwriting compliance is in line with Entertainment governance framework (e.g., Underwriting Authorities, global MSU, Underwriting Guidelines, and Rules and Principles).~crlf~##Assist in ensuring contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at time of inception.~crlf~##Proactively establish and maintain policy file (whether electronic or paper) for each risk and transaction handled.~crlf~##Ensure accurate policy documentation issued to broker (where AGCS responsibility to do so) or broker has issued documentation (where broker responsibility).~crlf~##Support administration of International Insurance Programs for Entertainment.~crlf~##Manages timely and accurate booking of policy premiums and credit control/collection processes.~crlf~##Proactively work with other functions (e.g., operations, credit control) to resolve outstanding accounts queries.~crlf~##Positively represent AGCS externally to the market.~crlf~##Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Underwriting process, including MMC, ARC, Claims, and Operations.~crlf~##Develop and maintain strong relationships with key brokers and clients and other relevant stakeholders (e.g., risk managers).~crlf~##Continue to develop knowledge of policy forms and underwriting proficiency.~crlf~~crlf~
##Degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline preferred;~crlf~##Basic understanding of AGCS Entertainment products and portfolio;~crlf~##Ability to build relationships with brokers at peer group level;~crlf~##Willingness to learn regional/local Entertainment insurance markets and competitor landscape;~crlf~##Basic understanding of legal and regulatory framework;~crlf~##Willingness to work in a complex, global matrix organization;~crlf~##Ability to learn to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to Entertainment;~crlf~##Ability to learn how to analyze current performance against benchmarks, applying how the market operates and functions, the business needs and customer needs;~crlf~##Aptitude to learn how to design, develop and implement consistent, robust wordings;~crlf~##Willingness to learn about the policy administration life cycle, information collection, policy issuance, premium bookings, credit control, and cancellation;~crlf~##Ability to clearly and effectively express ideas and messages verbally and in writing;~crlf~##Ability to persuade and motivate others to act without direct authority; and~crlf~##Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study or examine data in detail and draw appropriate conclusions.~crlf~~crlf~
