Chief Financial Officer – Based in Sri Lanka
This role will be reporting into Chief Executive Officer responsible for the establishment and control of financial and legal services, the accuracy of reporting to the shareholder and statutory bodies and for the provision of meaningful financial data that facilitates the decision making processes of key stakeholders.~crlf~~crlf~The CFO has oversights the taxation, actuarial, risk, investment, financial accounting and legal functions.~crlf~~crlf~He/she is directly involved in the development and management of the Company’s strategic plans and works closely with the senior executive team to provide management information and operational support services to achieve business unit and company-wide objectives.~crlf~~crlf~He/she works closely with the senior management team to create ideas of value to the Company and thereby contribute to the overall business effectiveness of the Company.~crlf~~crlf~He/she is a member of the Executive Committee and is required to report to the Managing Director and Board on the key financials, KPI’s and strategic business objectives.
Financial Management and Budgets~crlf~•~crlf~Lead the Company’s financial reporting function and make sure appropriate accurate and timely financial management policies and processes are implemented to support business requirements. ~crlf~•~crlf~Review financial control and budgeting process and establish new procedures and systems, where necessary~crlf~~crlf~Management Information and Reporting~crlf~•~crlf~Monitor and review business performance against budget and KPI’s. Develop effective and ‘user friendly’ financial and management reporting systems to support business performance.~crlf~•~crlf~Meet all external reporting requirements and establish positive business relationships with key external suppliers, auditors and regulators.~crlf~~crlf~Strategic Business Planning~crlf~•~crlf~Maintain a thorough understanding of the business functions and services. Provide strategic contribution to the development of long term business and financial plans.~crlf~•~crlf~Development of financial models to support strategic planning and business development initiatives. ~crlf~~crlf~Investments~crlf~•~crlf~Lead the Company’s investment management activities and provide appropriate and timely advice to the Board and CEO to maximise the Company’s position, whilst making sure all actions are taken so that returns are not adversely impacted by negative market movements.~crlf~~crlf~Operations Management and Control~crlf~•~crlf~An appropriate control environment is established to support treasury operations, credit and market risk procedures. Work in conjunction with Chief Risk Officer so that appropriate information systems, reporting and operational procedures are established and maintained, and no major breaches occur.~crlf~~crlf~People and Team Management~crlf~•~crlf~Set and review accountabilities and development plans for all direct reports, with key theme being leadership values.~crlf~~crlf~Leadership ~crlf~•~crlf~Demonstrate leadership within the Company and on relevant industry issues. Provide support to the CEO on divisional and group issues where required.~crlf~~crlf~
•~crlf~Extensive experience in managing and developing financial strategies, preferably the Financial Services industry.~crlf~•~crlf~Tertiary business qualifications.~crlf~•~crlf~Formal professional qualifications and considerable practical experience in financial planning, reporting and control. ~crlf~•~crlf~The ability to organize and control major accounting systems is also required.
