1890 – Founded for a Secure Future

Allianz Group was established in Berlin, Germany, laying the foundation for a global insurance leader.

1914 – Early Steps in Insurance Innovation in Australia

The Manufacturers' Mutual Accident Insurance Association Limited began its Workers' Compensation underwriting business. This company later changed its name to Manufacturers Mutual Insurance Limited (MMI).

1980 – Strengthening Australian Operations

MMI bought the Australian operation of Allianz.

1998 – Global Expansion

Allianz bought a majority shareholding in MMI. It became a wholly owned branch of Allianz AG.

2000 – Becoming Allianz Australia

Official company name changed to Allianz Australia from MMI in July.

2006 - Supporting Global Paralympics

Allianz Group became a partner of the International Paralympic Committee.

2011 - Ongoing Commitment to Paralympics

Allianz Australia became an ongoing partner of Paralympics Australia.

2012 - Official Naming of Allianz Stadium

Sydney Football Stadium officially became Allianz Stadium. It joined the Allianz family of stadiums around the world.

2020 - Sustainability Commitment

Allianz pledged to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability.
