Catherine and Lucy's journey together began in 2016 and has seen them grow through various senior roles. Lucy recalls,
"We started job sharing together in 2016 in financial services in a strategy role. I had job shared previously and had lost my job share partner during her maternity leave. For the first time, instead of matching two part-timers in the business, we decided to run an internal and external advertising campaign to find a new partner. From a note on LinkedIn, I was inundated with responses — from both men and women.”

“Finding the right job-sharing partner is like meeting the partner of your dreams—you just know. It's like a 'meet cute' from the movies. Chemistry is key, and both people have to be committed and motivated. Shared core values like trust, work ethic, and drive are essential. With ultimate accountability and delivering results, job sharing can be incredibly successful for an organisation and very rewarding for the individuals.”

“Job sharing works for all genders, career levels, and life stages, allowing two people to contribute to one role. The focus is on results and what you bring to the company and customers. This effective partnership brings diverse thoughts, experiences, and abilities, making it ideal for those with care responsibilities, portfolio careers, consulting roles, or transitioning to retirement. Over time, we've refined our structure and use technology to ensure seamless productivity. Though we may not always agree, our differing perspectives enhance problem-solving and bring out the best in each other for Allianz. Job sharing is simply two people in one team sharing a role.”
