  • Disability Inclusion

We offer employees with disabilities an equal opportunity to succeed, to learn, to be compensated fairly, and to advance. True inclusion is about embracing difference and our commitment to disability inclusion is a deeply held belief to build, foster, and grow a workplace culture that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds. We want to be by your side and ensure you receive the necessary accommodation when needed, which is why we encourage everybody to self-disclose their disabilities from pre to post-onboarding, so we can innovate how we work and the tools and technology we use with the hopes of empowering our employee community to spark a positive change.

50 Over 50 Initiative

  • Fifty over Fifty

In March 2022, Allianz Engage and Allianz NEO began searching for inspirational women aged 50+ willing to share their workplace experiences and life lessons as part of an Age and Gender Inclusion awareness campaign called Fifty Over Fifty.

  • Why over 50s?

Today, we are all likely to live longer and healthier than previous generations, and for many people, this means they are embracing the opportunity to work longer too. Yet, negative stereotypes around older age persist in broader society and the workplace. Studies have shown that Ageism is the most common type of discrimination. As age is one of the first things we notice about a person, many of us will likely have experienced it first-hand or possibly also judged someone due to their age.

  • Why women aged 50+?

    • Many studies have shown that women aged 50+ experience particular workplace challenges, including:
    • The gender pay gap is the largest for women in their 50s.
    • The employment rate is 9% behind men for women aged 50-64.
    • Typically, while caring for dependent children is seen mainly as a joint responsibility today, caring for elderly relations continues to be presented as a woman's role resulting in many women in their 50s and 60s leaving the workplace.
    • In the UK, most adults (77%) aged 50 to 59 said they had left their previous job sooner than expected. Once out of the workplace, the over 50s are significantly more likely to suffer long-term unemployment than other age groups, despite experience and a willingness to work.
  • Why Fifty Over Fifty?

The purpose of Fifty Over Fifty was to understand women's workplace experiences, including people identifying as women aged 50+. They were asked two simple questions. What are your experiences of being a 50+ working woman, and secondly, what life lesson would you love to share with your younger self?

The response was overwhelming! And the workplace experiences shared were both positive and inspirational, with the life lessons motivating and thought-provoking.

  • Fifty Over Fifty

The stories of our finalists debunk many of the negative stereotypes around older age. We hope they are now firmly put away and replaced by the lived experiences and future aspirations of our fabulous over the 50s who prove once and for all that #AgeIsJustANumber.

Allianz Employee Networks

Our employee networks give individuals a sense of community and the chance to network with colleagues based on a shared identity or experience, as well as with their “friends & allies”. They are an important partner for raising awareness, advocating change and setting our diversity and inclusion agenda.

Allianz Pride works to support the Allianz LGBTQ+ community and its causes through inclusion, ally engagement, education, community involvement, and outreach.

Allianz NEO (Networking – Engagement – Opportunities) is focused on fostering an inclusive company culture where people can develop and succeed irrespective of their gender identity.

Black Employee Leadership & Opportunity Networking Group (BELONG) is an inclusive community that supports the professional development, recruitment, retention, and community involvement of Black employees at Allianz.

The Allianz Beyond network aims to raise awareness on the topic of disability inclusion, to ensure that all Allianz workplaces are free of barriers, and to promote Allianz as an attractive employer for people with a disability.
