We are looking for you! We are currently hiring a forward-thinking and results-oriented Intern -  Sustainable Investment Advice (f/m/d). The position is based in our Munich office.

 

risklab is the expert for investment and risk solutions within Allianz Global Investors. Over 60 investment professionals worldwide develop investment advisory services and solutions that are tailored to individual investment goals of our clients. We work jointly with distribution and investment teams in all regions to build strong relationships with our most important clients and create customized investment solutions for them. Given the growing importance that sustainable investing has for our clients and our firm, we built out dedicated capabilities within risklab to advise our clients holistically on their portfolios in all aspects around sustainable investing, bringing to bear and further developing risklab’s quantitative state-of-the-art analytics framework.

 

What you do

 

  • Client investing advice
    • Contribute to the preparation of client investor meetings
    • Prepare internal presentations
    • Research sustainable investing behavior of institutional investors, such as pension funds, insurance companies, central banks, family offices
    • Perform quantitative analyses (i.e. analyze sustainability characteristics as well as financial and performance metrics) of client portfolios, investment indices and benchmarks
    • Contribute to the development of clients’ investment strategies
  • Analytics and research
    • Conduct empirical and theoretical research in the areas of sustainability, climate investing and private markets and provide input to thought leadership papers
    • Research sustainable investing benchmarks and create comparisons of sustainable index methodology and construction rules
    • Maintain an overview of public fixed income and equity sustainability indices (benchmarks) available in the marketplace
  • Quantitative and technical tool development
    • Develop and extend software logic for the risklab proprietary sustainable investment advice / portfolio analysis application using cloud technologies such as Databricks and Power BI
    • Contribute to the implementation of business logic in Databricks as well as improvement of automation and usability
    • Assist with data visualization using Power BI
    • Help with technical and business logic documentation of the application
    • Learn to work with market data from providers such as Bloomberg or Refinitiv


What you bring

 

  • You are an enrolled student (Masters) in a business and/or quantitative field like Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field of study
  • Strong analytical background and understanding of financial markets
  • Motivation to learn about sustainable investing
  • High level of accuracy and keen attention to detail
  • Excellent team player with good communication skills and a self-reliant working style
  • Ability to analyze complex matters and break them down into clear separate pieces
  • Experience with MS Office and programming (e.g. SQL, Python (Pandas) or equivalent)
  • Experience with data engineering platforms and software (e.g. Databricks, Microsoft Azure Data Factory, GitHub or equivalent) is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization software (Microsoft Power BI or equivalent) is a plus
  • Experience in sustainable investing is a plus
  • Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in German is a plus
